Phases
We have no idea what this is actually going to look like. This is our best guess at a plan; we are using these phases to focus our efforts, steady our gaze, and let the many people who have helped us thus far join the ride. But all things are of course open to change as God wills. And so are we.
Man plans and God laughs.
Yiddish Proverb
Phase One. Book collecting and collection curation. During this phase we will gather books more or less indiscriminately as we start our selection of the best of the best and hidden gems. Actively seeking and gratefully accepting donations.
Phase Two. Book collecting and event hosting. During this phase we will begin hosting events to help our community and gather more books. Actively seeking and gratefully accepting donations.
Phase Three. Book hunting, furniture finding and storage unit renting. During this phase we will begin to be more discerning with our purchases as we hunt for specific books our collection is missing. We will also secure a climate-controlled storage unit to house the collection as by this time it will have outgrown our home library capacity and begin to acquire beautiful old bookshelves, tables and comfy chairs from estate sales. Actively seeking and gratefully accepting donations.
Phase Four. Purchase a brick and mortar location and build the library. Actively seeking and gratefully accepting donations.
Phase Five. Grand opening!
Phase Six. Begin hosting community events at the library location and buying used books from walk-ins. Still gratefully accepting donations.
